Ace DVD Copy is one of the least expensive products we reviewed. It is an application to convert your DVD movies (not menus or bonus footage) to CDs or your hard drive. So, if you're looking for an application to do that as well as burn to a blank DVD, look at our product comparison chart.

The software copied the movie to the computer without trouble, but when we tried to burn the movie to a CD we ran into problems.

Feature Set:

The feature set of Ace DVD is very limited. It only converts and burns your DVD movie to CD media. And, you can't even keep the menus or bonus material.

Ease of Use:

The opening screen was easy to understand and follow; three steps were required to complete the copy. There's no help menu to aid you in navigation. If you are confused about something in the program, you're on your own to figure it out.

Ease of Installation:

This product is very easy to install. No problems.

Quality of Copy:

Since it only converts to a VCD or SVCD format, the quality is not as good as the original DVD.

Program Stability:

We ran into our first error on the first step. The program stated that we needed to open the IFO file before continuing. Because we had no help menu available to fix this problem, we skipped this step using a previously ripped DVD. The second step went smoothly, but on the third step, we received another error message stating that no current DVD drives were supported. Again, we couldn't refer to a help menu because there wasn't one. So, we used the Nero program to perform the final step of burning to a CD.

Summary:

Judging from these two errors, ACE DVD isn't very user-friendly. Beginners and experienced users alike will likely find its copy process frustrating.
